Hiya everyone!
Hope you are all having a great day. I have just spent mine shopping for fabric, which in my opinion is the only way to spend your days! I have been looking for some fabric that I can make my half scale college project from. For those of you who don't know, half scale literally means half the scale. So we are making a pattern from one of Janet Arnolds books and instead of making it full size we draw it up to half the size. Unfortunately this does mean half the number of buttons, hooks and eyes and even down to the weight of the fabric, so a heavy wool jacket would be made from a light wool, which can be exteremly annoying seeing as the fabric I need is already a light wool. Bit of a dilemma but all sorted now hopefull!
I am quite excited to start making now, the thought that I am going to make a miniature version of an existing garmemt is neat! Although Janet Arnolds patterns are so difficult to draw up. I seem to keep getting to the end only to have a problem where the ends wont meet (which to you non fabric people out there is very problematic!). To all of you out there who may end up making one of her patterns just make sure that you do balance it or you shall drive yourself insane. By the end of one day of just sitting in the library and drawing I had to listen to my loudest music on full (with my headphones I will add) so so my mind didnt have to concentrate on lyrics or music. I really just needed noise!
So I will post some pics of what I am making and also some pictures of the finished garment for you all to see. I am so excited I cant wait to see it finally complete!!!
Talk to you soon and take care!
xxx
